Of all the lighthouses in South Carolina, the Hunting Island Lighthouse is the only one in the state that is publicly accessible. 

 

Hunting Island is and very popular 5,000 acre state park located 16 miles east of Beaufort, South Carolina. It attracts over one millions visitors per year. Guests can enjoy campgrounds close to the beach and tour the historic lighthouse – the only one open to the public to climb in the entire state of South Carolina. With 5 miles of beautiful shoreline, the beach views are truly amazing at Hunting Island.

Hunting Island State Park camping is also available at over 200 campsites with water and electrical hookups, shower and restroom facilities, beach walkways and a playground. A perfect vacation destination for the family! Hunting Island State Park camping reservations must be made for a minimum of two nights.
